Mount Meru
Day 1: Arusha – Momella Gate (1,500 m) – Miriakamba Hut (2,500 m)
Drive from Arusha to Momella Gate for park registration. Begin trekking through lush forest
inhabited by colobus monkeys, giraffes, and buffaloes. Reach Miriakamba Hut for dinner and
overnight inside Arusha National Park. (Approx. 5–6 hours hiking)

Day 2: Miriakamba Hut – Saddle Hut (3,570 m)
After breakfast, continue uphill through montane forest and heather zones, enjoying
panoramic views of Meru Crater and Ash Cone. Arrive at Saddle Hut in the afternoon. Rest
or hike Little Meru (3,820 m) for acclimatization. Dinner and overnight at Saddle Hut.

Day 3: Saddle Hut – Summit (4,566 m) – Momella Gate – Arusha
Wake before dawn for the summit push. Ascend along rocky paths to reach Socialist Peak

to Saddle Hut for breakfast, then continue down to Momella Gate for transfer back to
Arusha. (Approx. 8–10 hours total)
